New to the half-revised 3.5 edition is the inclusion of sand-modified belt wrestling, and updates to scrambling and back exposure points to better reflect the current state of beach wrestling tournaments as of 2018.

The rules have been slightly adjusted since then, with a major modification being introduced in 2015 by the newly created international beach wrestling committee. Beach wrestling was introduced by the international wrestling federation (United World Wrestling) in 2004, resurrecting the rules of wrestling prior to use of wrestling mats in the very early 1900’s. If you haven’t heard of this emerging sport, this is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the oldest version of mankind’s oldest sport.
